General Questions
What is a NETse7en hotspot?
NETse7en is a broadband wireless network offering high-speed Internet access from a number of locations across North America. These locations, known as "hotspots", allow you to break free from the wires and cables keeping you anchored to your desk. Check your email, surf the Internet, or get some work done using the same portable devices you're already using at your office.
What do I need to connect to the NETse7en network?
NETse7en follows the 802.11b wireless networking standard. All you need is a Wi-Fi certified 802.11b card and your portable device, be it a laptop, PDA or cell phone. Many devices shipped today already have Wi-Fi capabilities built-in.
How do I access the NETse7en network from a hotspot?
All you need to do is open up your favorite Web browser while visiting any NETse7en location. Our hardware automatically redirects you to a NETse7en login screen. From there, you'll be able to create a new account, login to the network, purchase additional access time or surf the Internet.
How can I tell if I'm at a NETse7en Location?
Just look for the NETse7en hotspot logo on the door. Also, if you open your Web browser and see the NETse7en login screen, you're ready to go...just login.
What is the range of the NETse7en coverage?
NETse7en is available in designated hotspot establishments. However, due to the nature of the technology, you may be able to receive the signal not only in, but around the vicinity of the hotspot location.
Can I connect to my company's network through NETse7en?
Yes. You can connect to your company's network if your company allows remote access. As an extra security measure, many companies use VPNs, or Virtual Private Networks. NETse7en is compatible with a vast array of VPN's, however, some extra configuration may be required.
Is there a download limit?
No. Wireless broadband is perfect for uploading or downloading large files at fast speed. Usage is based on time rather than data transfer amount.
Will I be able to send and receive large files?
You may be able to send large emails but please remember that a recipient's email account may limit the amount of data accepted. We suggest that you limit emails and attachments to 10MB.
How do I connect to banking, financial institution and other secure shopping internet sites?
Once you're connected to the internet using NETse7en, you'll be able to access any of the sites you'd normally be able to visit. You won't need any special settings, but, upon signing in to your banking account, please remember to look for the padlock icon on your browser and click on it to confirm that the security certificate is valid.
Can I use my laptop and NETse7en to make voice calls?
Certain services that use your laptop and soft-phone software (such as SKYPE) may work after you log-in to the service, however, Voice over IP (VoIP) is not supported on the NETse7en network at this time.
Can I use a wireless VoIP Handset to make voice calls?
If your device has a browser that allows you to log-into the service you may be able to use the service. You'll need a separate account to be able to use both your handset and your computer at the same time. Alternatively you can log-in using the same account and the system will automatically disconnect the other device.
Most VoIP handsets do not have a browser and they require MAC authentication, therefore VoIP handsets are not supported on the NETse7en Network at this time.
Is there any risk to health from using wireless network (WLAN) technology?
Wireless networks are no greater health hazard than mobile phones. Wireless networks cover much shorter distances than mobile phones and so operate at much lower power levels.
What if my favorite place to hang out doesn't have NETse7en?
We're always looking to add new NETse7en hotspot locations. If you know of a location that you think would make a great hotspot, be sure to tell the location manager to check us out. Or, let us know where the location is and we'll follow up.
Service & Support
Can I get online right away?
Yes. Your account is activated immediately upon the completion of the signup process.
How do I sign-up?
Once at a NETse7en hotspot, turn on your wireless device and open your favorite Web browser. You'll be redirected to a login page with an option to create a new NETse7en account. Then simply follow the directions shown.
Do I need to install special software to access the NETse7en network?
There is no extra software to load. However, you may need to adjust some of your hardware settings. Click here to view our quick setup guide.
How can I cancel my subscription?
There is no need to cancel your subscription it will expire at the end of the period you select. For instance, if you sign-up for one day, at the end of the 24-hour period your service will stop working. To reactivate it, just sign-up for the package you want.
I'm having trouble with E-Mail. Why?
NETse7en provides fast wireless access to the internet and to send email you need to connect with your ISP's outgoing mail server. However, some ISPs don't allow users to connect directly to their outgoing mail servers from the internet because of security and spamming (junk email) concerns. It's therefore possible that you may have difficulty sending mail this way.

I can't log in! What can I do?
First, make sure you're at a NETse7en hotspot. If you are, make sure that your login information is correct. Passwords are case sensitive, so be careful of that shift key and caps lock!
I get a blank page instead of the log-in page. Why?
Some secure websites will not re-direct you to our log-in page. If you have your homepage set to a secure page, just browse to another site such as "www.google.com". Or, set your homepage to another website that isn't secure.
I get the message "Your Session Has Been Terminated". Why?
There are two reasons for this:
1.) First, it may means that your time has expired. If you signed up for a daily, weekly or monthly plan, at the end of the term your session will be turned off automatically to avoid un-wanted charges. To get connected, simply sign-up for another account and you'll be connected right away.
2.) Or, your session may have been terminated due to abuse of the network, because you are infected with a virus, or for spamming or other prohibited activities. If your session was terminated for violation of network use policies, you would have received a warning email in most cases. If your session was terminated without warning a NETse7en associate will contact you with further information.
How can I get in touch with a support person directly?
